Who: Middle East Region members


What: Middle East Region Staff College (MERSC)

 

When: Sunday, 31 May 2015, arrive between 1300 and 1800 hours (1 to 6 pm) through graduation on Saturday, 6 June 2015, 1200 (noon). You must arrive between the times designated. You may travel in civilian clothes. You must have your CAP ID and a photo ID. You must register and pay the stated fee by credit card or PayPal online.


Where: Edgewood Arsenal, MD. You will receive specifics and maps by email upon receipt of your registration and fee payment.

 

How: You must reside on the premises and must attend all sessions and events from on-site registration through graduation. If you complete all requirements, you will receive certification for RSC (Level IV training) which may be required for Level IV completion and/or promotion. You must have completed Level III before you may attend MERSC. Waivers may be granted with your wing commander's request to the course director. You must be safety current through 30 June 2015 upon arrival.

 

 

Student Instructions:


READ: CAP Pamphlet 50-6.


REGISTER: On-line only.


BRING: CAP ID and photo ID, completed and current CAP Forms 160 and 161, towels and pillow.


UNIFORM: Be extremely familiar with CAP Manual 39-1. Air Force Service Dress w/o blouse or corporate equivalent. Adhere to appropriate grooming standards.


a. Short sleeve AF blue shirt (no tie), gray rank epaulets, gray name tag, flight cap with insignia, AF blue pants or skirt, blue webbed belt with silver buckle, military low quarter shoes, up to four metal insignias and NO ribbons, approved outer garments as necessary.


OR


b. Short sleeve aviator white shirt (no tie), gray rank epaulets, gray name tag, civilian medium to dark gray pants or skirt (no cargo style pants or jeans), civilian black leather belt, civilian plain black shoes, up to four metal badges and NO ribbons, approved outer garments as necessary.


NOTE:


c. Absolutely no polo shirts, flight suits, BDUs or other field wear.


PLUS:

 

d. Mess uniform or civilian equivalent, Air Force Service Dress with Service Coat or Corporate equivalent or civilian business attire for the Friday evening banquet (a required event).


e. Bring or wear for traveling civilian Khaki pants or shorts and sneakers or athletic shoes. You will be issued a student shirt upon arrival. This "casual uniform" will be worn on Sunday for the "ice breaker" and on Wednesday for the barbeque.


FEE: $200 which includes room with linens and blanket, all meals Monday morning through Saturday morning, including barbeque and banquet, student shirt, challenge coin, all materials and handouts.
